How in the heck did it get to be the end of October already!? Not that I'm complaining - it has turned out to be one of the nicest falls I can remember! For the most part, it's been warm and sunny, and I'm not looking forward to the cold temperatures that I know are about to hit us.
The fall has felt busier than normal with both kids in activities now and Scott doing his firefighter training, but we managed to make the most of this nice weather and got out to do some fun stuff.
We didn't quite make it to an apple orchard this fall, but in late September, we went to Peck's farm and market in Spring Green. They have a huge market, where we bought apples, apple donuts, cookies, wild rice and other goodies. The kids got to pet and feed some animals, and we managed to get lost in the corn maze. Thank goodness for obvious markings on the bottoms of our shoes - we were able to follow our tracks and back-track our way out!
Mid-October, while the dads went backpacking and camping near Chippewa Falls, my friend, Amber, and I took the kids to the local pumpkin patch. We went on a hayride, fed the chickens, and the kids spent a lot of time playing out in the wide open space.
This past weekend, we made a trip up to New Richmond. Again, the weather was amazing, and we spent a lot of time outside, playing in the leaves.
Maddox got a hold of the leaf blower:
We also carved our pumpkins while we were up there:
Have fun cutting out all those teeth, Dad!

And finally, a rare moment of the kids playing nicely together :)
Happy Fall!
